Every year more than 6000 thefts, to a value of 1.5 billion SEK, are reportedwithin the Swedish building trade. Plus all the indirect costs of having theconstruction site standing still.SafeTool is a newly started company that will try to prevent this problem witha modern technology solution.The key to SafeTool?s solution is RFID ? Radio Frequency Identification ? andthe solution looks like this;All tools are stored in a container on the construction site. Every tool isequipped with a RFID-tag that uniquely identifies the tool. With antennas in thecontainer it is possible to detect when a tool is leaving the container and whenit comes back.

Container Security Initiative was launched in 2002 by the US Customs and Border Patrol in order to secure the global flow of containers destined for USA. This thesis attempts to analyze Container Security Initiative in relation to a possible future scenario made by the weapons industry where the state's global traderoutes are being subject to militarization. A development which is partly based on the threat posed by global illegal trade. The latter is discussed and defined based on current research made by Carolyn Nordstrom, Moíses Naím and theories on the cosmopolitan perspective made by Ulrich Beck. Strategy documents concerning Container Security Initiative are then analyzed in terms of discourse to try to say something about what the program indicates.

There is a new beverage container on the market, a bottle made out of pure aluminum as a replacement for the traditional container made out of glass. This new container has the potential to reduce both cost and pollution during transportation, the lighter and stronger construction has every advantage compared to the old one in glass. The new container has every possibility to make it on the market. Some of the biggest brands within the soft drink market already use these bottles in countries without any recycling demands like: Coca-Cola, Heineken and Pepsi. The only thing stopping these brands from the Swedish market is the lack of a functional return system, there is only one company that uses the bottle in Sweden today and they take care of their own used bottles.

Choosing a new plastic material for a container includes several different steps. The material consists of Russian B?-verbs and their Swedish translations retrieved from Norstedts ryska ordbok.

Det här examensarbetet behandlar viktsoptimering och omkonstruktion av en lastcontainer genom att använda höghållfast stål. Arbetet har utförts i Luleå åt LuCoil Steel AB i samarbete med Vikströms Åkeri AB. Vikströms Åkeri AB är ett rikstäckande företag med huvudkontor på Storheden utanför Luleå där det även finns en tillverkningsverkstad för lastbilscontainrar. Man har under de senaste åren i samarbete med LuCoil Steel AB börjat tillverka containrar i höghållfast stål för att kunna använda sig av tunnare material och göra dessa containrar lättare än tidigare. Vikten på containrar har stor betydelse inom transortnäringen.

This is a thesis performed at GEMS PET Systems AB in Uppsala. GEMS PET Systems AB is a company within GE Healthcare. GEMS PET Systems develops and manufactures equipment for manufacturing of radioactive isotopes for PET which is a scanner used in medical applications. The systems includes an accelerator of cyclotron type and other support equipment. One system is shipped in two or three containers depending on order configuration.

In order to manage (eller take care of) all of this new waste, Swedes need a method of facilitating the handling process. In this report, both the habits and needs among private households across Sweden are investigated, followed by a pertinent solution to the waste problem. Examensarbetet har haft som syfte att få fram en färdig konceptlösning för att på ett effektivt sätt kunna frakta kabeltrummor i stål med en ytterdiameter på fyra meter i en container med endast 2.58 meters dörröppning, genom att göra kabeltrumman delbar. En lösning som väl i drift utgör en betydande ekonomisk fördel för uppdragsgivaren. Examensarbetet har resulterat i ett koncept som innebär att uteslutandeskruvförband används för att kunna dela och montera en kabeltrumma. Vi har underarbetet konstaterat att vår lösning inte innebär försämrade hållfasthetsegenskaper.Förutom konstruktionsfasen har arbetet även innefattat framtagande av en packplanför container med standardiserade mått samt en monteringsanvisning..

The distribution of goods can be managed with different types of transportation depending on price and time aspects. The lowest transport cost for larger amount of goods is by maritime shipping. A common carrier used in transportation of goods is a standardized ISO- container.

the most obvious problem at Traction today is the in-between handling that demands much time and resources. The reason is that the packages are not designed with handling in mind. Several of the packages of today also have a poor degree of utilization that means there is room for a fewer number of articles. That in turn means more packages, more transports, more storage space and more staff. On the basis of a specification of demands ? which take quality and environmental influence, as well as transport, handling and economy in account ? we have developed suggestions on new packages that will facilitate handling and lower the total costs, The time of handling will in some cases abbreviate to just a few seconds with the new packages.

A new type of forest tree seedling, called mini seedling, has been developed by the University of Dalarna in Garpenberg, Sweden. Compared to traditional containerized seedlings that are grown for 1 ? 2 years, mini seedlings are grown for only 10 weeks. The mini seedlings are small, easily planted, cost effective, and reduce the amount of chemicals used in the nursery. Research has shown that mini seedlings tend to have higher overall survival rates than traditional container seedlings.
